Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage patients with respect and a smile
  • Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
  • Post patient and insurance payments accurately
  • Apply required adjustments on insurance payments
  • Maintain accurate notation of patient accounts
  • Work AR reports diligently and routinely
  • Ensure timely filing of all claims
  • Provide necessary information and documentation requested by insurance companies for claim payment
  • Handle accurate billing and queueing of patient statements for unpaid balances, and complete the collections process if necessary
  • Utilize payor websites as needed
  • Send corrected insurance claims and process refunds when necessary
  • Review insurance denials and actively work accounts for payment
  • Reconcile the monthly bank deposit spreadsheet
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and patient-centric working environment
  • Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, Employee Handbook)


Requirements

  • One (1) or more years of practical experience, including medical or dental insurance or billing experience
  • Superior understanding of CDT codes and EOBs for dental insurance
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the desire for professional growth
  • Organized, with a superior knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology
